 Pre Construction Television and Radio Surveys

We have carried out over 400 TV Reception Surveys, many for submission to local planning authorities, as part of the planning application process.  Our reports are accepted by planning authorities nationwide; indeed several authorities use our reports as the benchmark standard.

Our diverse client base for this specialist area comprises of architects, construction companies, property developers, wind farm developers and consultancies.

All enquiries and reception surveys are treated with the strictest confidentiality.

The survey report consists of detailed information acquired from tests carried out at multiple locations around a proposed development.  The report clearly shows the information recorded during the survey, together with detailed maps showing test point locations, the location of the proposed development, and any areas where television reception may be affected.  Our summary and conclusions include technical advice on various mitigation methods.

If required, we can also submit Environmental Impact Assessment Chapters, in order to comply with a Section 106 Planning Agreement.

Post Construction Television and Radio Surveys 

In some cases the planning authorities require a Post Construction TV Reception Survey to discharge the new development.

These surveys consist of re-visiting all of the test point locations which were visited during the Pre Construction TV Reception Survey.  A detailed report is then compiled, comparing the test results of both the Pre Construction and Post Construction surveys.

This analysis enables us to ascertain if the new development has, in fact, had an impact on television reception, and if so, advice on suitable remedial methods is included.                                           

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Interference Investigation 

In some cases new developments have not required a Pre Construction Television Reception Survey, but during the construction process complaints from local residents have been received regarding problems with their television reception.

We are able to offer a service where we can investigate reception in the local area to the new development and compile a report highlighting if or where the new development has impacted on television reception, and advise on suitable mitigation methods. 

Broadcast Coverage Surveys

Taylor Bros have provided broadcast consultancy services throughout the UK.

These surveys consist of carrying out detailed measurements at particular locations within a television transmitters' coverage area.

The results of these tests enable us to ascertain, for the broadcaster, that the transmitter is operating correctly and within specification.
